The Web & App Delivery Manager is a new strategic role within the Business Transformation team, it focuses on prioritising our websites, mobile apps and digital communications developments that enhance our workforce experience and drives enhanced SP Energy Networks customers satisfaction.

This position will be vital in optimising user experience by developing and strengthening internal and external customer relations, maximising opportunities for customer and user feedback and identifying what we could be doing better to provide our customers with an industry leading service.

Working collaboratively with our Transformation Value Streams, the Web & App Delivery Manager will ensure successful and timely delivery of web & app solutions, while effectively managing resources, risks, stakeholder and customer expectations.   


 

What you'll be doing

Establish the UX vision, direction and strategy for SPEN to create a best in class digital experience for internal and external customers.

 

Collaborate with stakeholders, such as product managers, developers, designers, and business analysts to understand requirements and define delivery plans, including timelines, and resource allocation.

 

Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams involved in development and delivery of web and app projects including assigning tasks, tracking progress, resolving conflicts, and ensuring effective communication among team members.

 

Define and implement our approach to internal and external customer satisfaction, with ongoing monitoring, across all key touch-points within the web & app product portfolio.

 

Establish and manage a design library to create consistent standards across UX with front-end developers.

 

Drive optimum web and app layout, continually assessing user data and mapping customer journeys to optimise user experience.

 

Gain insights from user data and customer feedback to understand behaviour trends to identify problem areas and generate and implement solutions to improve user experience. 

 

Lead innovation workshops, with all levels of the organisation from director level down, to identify and prioritise solutions to the top customer problems/needs.

 


Establishing the UX vision, direction and strategy for a small development team  to create a best-in-class digital experience for internal and external customers.

 

Sit across the entire Transformation Programme, ensuring Value Streams consider UX as part of digital solutions with Customer touchpoints.

 

Working with business owners and process experts to remove blockers for the development team, ensuring they have the right tools and policies in place to do their role effectively.

 

Leading and supporting the development team in effectively managing the workload of the  team, ensuring enough capacity exists to meet the key demands of the business. Where necessary creating a business case to bring in additional developers.


 
Influencing the product roadmaps, using data from both primary and secondary customer research to identify customer focused solutions to the top problems identified.

 

Influencing consistent design standards across the Iberdrola group through regular dialogue with senior UX colleagues across the organisation. 
 

What you’ll bring

  • A solid understanding of web & app development technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to motivate and inspire team members, provide guidance and support and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure effective interaction with stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Effective problem solver and decision maker to identify solutions to problems and challenges.
  • Quality focus to ensure that web & app solutions meet the highest standards with thorough testing, usability assessments and performance evaluations to deliver robust and reliable applications.
  • Adaptable and open to learning to keep up with latest industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to make informed decisions and drive innovation.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement, optimisation to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Analytical with the ability to interpret data and evaluate performance metrics to make data driven decisions.
  • Effective time and resource management skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage resources efficiently to deliver multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver optimum outcomes. 
  • Ability to influence to ensure digital initiatives have UX at the heart of solutions and deliver in line with UX frameworks.

   
Minimum criteria

  • Qualification in computing science, design or similar proven experience 
  • Proven experience in leading customer experience teams in a commercial business environment 
  • Experience in using analytics platforms e.g. Hot Jar, Google Analytics 
  • Ability to interpret complex user data, combining quantitative and qualitative information to gain insights and map trends
  • Experience in mapping customer journeys
  • Understanding of customer behaviour principles
  • Creative ability with good problem-solving skills
