We are looking to recruit real estate and planning solicitors to support ScottishPower’s Renewables and Energy Networks businesses. The role would involve leading the legal support to deliver all land rights, consents and permits for major infrastructure projects.
We are looking for solicitors with either previous exposure to any of the following areas or an appetite to develop their skills in one of these fields:
- Real Estate
- Environmental Consenting
- Infrastructure Projects
- Agricultural Property
Candidates should also be proactive, dynamic, and keen to work with a diverse range of business partners. Experience of working in the energy sector is a bonus but provided you have an appetite to work in the sector and are a UK qualified solicitor or Advocate/Barrister then we want to hear from you.

SP Energy Networks, a division of the ScottishPower group, is a Distribution and Transmission Network Operator. We keep electricity flowing to homes and businesses throughout Central and Southern Scotland, North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Shropshire. We do this through the network of overhead lines and underground cables which we own and maintain. No matter who you pay your bill to, we’re the people to contact if you have a power cut, need a new or upgraded power connection, or spot an issue with our equipment. In addition, the energy landscape is changing fast, and the way our customers and communities interact with energy is evolving just as rapidly. Our role is to facilitate the decarbonisation objectives and choices of our customers, communities, and stakeholders, and to enable their journey to Net Zero.
ScottishPower Renewables is leading the development of the renewables industry through pioneering ideas, forward thinking and outstanding innovation. Our ambitious growth plans include expansion of our existing onshore wind portfolio, investment in new large-scale solar deployment and innovative grid storage systems including batteries. Building on the success of our West of Duddon Sands and East Anglia One offshore wind farms, we are delivering the Iberdrola Group’s offshore windfarms in the UK including the 3.1GW East Anglia Hub. We are also leading the way in the ambitious ScotWind programme being the most successful developer securing a pipeline of 7GW across three projects. There will be significant change required to deliver the UK’s Energy Strategy and we will be at the forefront influencing and shaping the energy transition through our market leading projects.
