Responsibilities
Overview
Energy Delivery, Electric Field Operations Electric Meter Field Technicians respond to customer trouble calls that require outside and inside service. They are also the key component of electric meter field operations. They demonstrate effective customer service communications
and technical skills. These individuals make themselves available to meet diverse trouble calls emanating from the Energy Control Center (ECC). The Electric Meter Field technicians troubleshoot secondary services from the pole to the house, and inside the house. They respond
to trouble calls involving no lights, partial lights, dim lights, flickering lights, low wires, and wires down in addition to detaching and reattaching meter boxes. These technicians perform systematic meter exchanges as mandated by the PSC. They perform exchanges of various
types of meters. In addition, they perform scheduled systems maintenance and repair on specific types of overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems. These technicians are responsible to ensure the safety of the crew, the general public, and RG&E facilities. They are required to work all shifts and every calendar day on a scheduled basis. They are also on call continuously. Their diverse skills enable them to identify real and potential system problems. Applying these skills reduces customer outage time because of their explicit ability to identify real and potential system problems. General Functions
