Paralegal- Regulatory & Tariffs

Responsibilities
Performs technical, analytical and statistical duties related to
forecasting and tariff development. Responsible for leading major,
critical projects relating to rate proceedings and collaboratives in
support of Company objectives. Provides regulatory support and advice
to meet other business area objectives.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of
responsibilities):
1. Coordinates and develops information, data and processes to meet
formal and informal data requests from regulators and other parties.
Coordinates and/or prepares compliance filings with the State regulatory
commission.(25%,P)
2. Coordinates OpCo involvement in regulatory proceedings. Monitors
various regulatory proceedings, schedules and decisions to keep the OpCo
informed of regulatory activities and issues.(20%,P)
3. May develop, maintain and administer official company tariffs.(10%,S)
4. Provides support and expert witness testimony of companys State and
Federal rate regulatory proceedings and collaboratives.(10%,S)
5. Provides technical advice and guidance across OpCo business area and
to outside subject matter experts. Provides support through research
and qualitative/quantitative analysis, including rate case support.

6. May provide subject matter expertise in the design and development of
new and/or changes to existing customer billing systems (and processes)
to meet regulatory requirements.(10%,S)
7. May act as litigation case manager for civil proceedings which
includes preparation of court documents and conducting legal &
regulatory research. May act as Knowledge Manager for knowledge manager
software (including training new users and assisting managers).(10%,S)
Skills and Requirements
Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant
experience required.
Experience in regulatory compliance and utility industry is
beneficial.
Knowledge of regulatory tariff process.
Experience in managing projects.
Knowledge of cost accounting, statistical techniques and rate
design principles.
Knowledge of Company databases and reporting capabilities.
Certifications:
Paralegal certification desirable (varies by OpCo).
