Analyst- Electric Transmission Services


Augusta, ME, US



Assists in processing of all CMP State regulated interconnection requests, consistent with the Maine Public Utility Commission rules and the Company’s tariffs.  Ensures customers receive excellent service from CMP throughout the MPUC Chapter 324 interconnection process.  Work extends to similar tasks at affiliate companies, including United Illuminating and New York State Electric and Gas and Rochester Gas and Electric.  This position reports to the Manager of Transmission and Interconnection Services and maintains relationships with customer service, service centers and other company departments.  
Manages all Level 1, 2, and 3 Chapter 324 distribution interconnection requests.  This includes but is not limited to the processing, analyzing, managing, and administering of applications and ensuring all timeframes are met within the allowable MPUC set time frames.  Establish and maintain a working relationship with customers and installers.
Assists with the processing and administration of distribution interconnection pre-application requests, from request receipt to report issuance, ensuring all timeframes are met within the allowable MPUC set time frames.
Under the direction of CMP’s Lead Analyst, Interconnection Services and Manager of Transmission and Interconnection Services, manage all assigned Level 4 DG interconnection applications, from assignment to closeout. This work includes, but is not limited to the following activities: Coordinating the communications and transfer of documents between the interconnecting customer/developer and CMP and/or contractor technical staff; scheduling and leading scoping meetings; managing the storage of all documents for each assigned Level 4 application per requirements established by CMP; coordinating engineering related study work; leading study results meetings; and creating and issuing interconnection agreements.
The analyst shall be responsible for tracking all activities against applicable timelines and deadlines established under Maine laws and regulations.
The analysts will provide regular reports to CMP at the direction of the CMP Manager and Lead Analyst.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Associates degree with minimum three years relevant experience or High School/GED with a minimum of five years relevant experience required.
Working on tasks that must comply with state or federal regulations, with preference given for electric utility regulations;
Analyzing data in order to provide suggested improvements, direction or suggestions for further analysis needed to solve problems; and
Serving customers by providing direction for their requests or by responding to questions on State regulated Interconnections and other items.

Highly motivated, dependable, and self-starting;
Works well on a team and with other company departments and customers;
Focus on providing excellent service to internal and external customers;
Able to express themselves clearly and succinctly orally and in writing; and
Well-developed MS Office and SAP skills
